In a tiny suburb of Chicago’s North Shore, one of the oldest estates in the area was transformed by nearly 50 interior and landscape designers who masterfully blended classic architectural design with serene English-style gardens. The 15,000 sq ft historical Pembroke estate, which was originally designed by renowned architect Henry Ives Cobb and later updated by David Adler and legendary designer Frances Elkins, boasts 36 rooms and over 3 acres of gardens and outdoor spaces.
I was honored to collaborate with my dear friend, Jennifer DeCleene of DeCleene Creative, to create a commission for this epic event. The pair of original, handmade papercut pieces, which were inspired from flora found along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, worked perfectly in the scullery that Jennifer masterfully designed and styled.
In its 20th year, this milestone event was proudly sponsored by FREDERIC and Schumacher which has raised millions for the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago Family Health.
